🎯 EOC Review Activities That Actually Prepare Students for the Test

Hey friends! 🧠

Testing season is here, and if you’re anything like me, you’re searching for ways to review every major Algebra topic without printing a packet the size of a phone book.

Here are my favorite end-of-course review activities that build confidence, strengthen key skills, and keep students focused without adding stress. Most are multiple-choice or self-checking, so they work beautifully for mock tests, bellringers, or sub days during review season.

🧩 Multiple-Choice Activities That Mirror Test Format

If you want students to practice reading, analyzing, and eliminating answer choices like they’ll need to on the EOC, start here:

BUNDLE | LINEAR, QUADRATIC, & EXPONENTIAL Function Fact & Fib Finder
Students review key characteristics (domain, range, zeros, intercepts) in a format that feels like a mini-test, but with built-in fun.

Correlation, Causation, & Linear Regression | Algebra Activity

Quadratic Regression & Correlation | Algebra Activity
Both provide excellent practice with interpreting graphs, analyzing relationships, and connecting equations to data.

Factoring Polynomials Activity: Trinomials, Quadratics, GCF, and More
Perfect for independent practice with multiple factoring types in a test-style format that’s quiet, focused, and easy to grade.

📈 Review the Big Topics Before Testing

These review activities target the key Algebra I skills most commonly tested on the EOC:

Linear Relationships & Systems

📊 Graphing & Writing Linear Equations | Algebrania Line Equation Challenge
📉 Graphing Linear Inequalities – Hidden Message | Slope-Intercept & Standard Form
📈 Graphing Systems of Inequalities – Riddle | Slope-Intercept & Standard Form
📋 Systems of Equations Word Problems | Glitchy System (of Equations)

💡 Great for spiral review across multiple days or as rotating stations. Students get instant feedback as messages or riddles appear when they solve correctly.

Literal Equations & Formula Practice

🚀 Solving Literal Equations Spatial Maze | Space-Themed Manipulating Formulas
A student favorite for rearranging formulas. It’s visual, self-paced, and ideal for quiet review days before testing.

Exponent Rules & Simplifying Expressions

🌼 February Holidays BUNDLE | Math Mosaic - Mastering Exponent Rules
Includes Multiplying & Power, Negative & Dividing, and Rational Exponents versions for flexible differentiation.

🖍️ BUNDLE Polynomial Operations Coloring | Simplifying Expressions
Students add, subtract, multiply, and divide polynomials in self-checking coloring form — perfect for calm practice days when motivation is low.

Quadratic Functions & Transformations

📐 Quadratic Transformations in VERTEX FORM | Effects of Change
📈 Quadratic Transformations in STANDARD FORM | Effects of Change
These help students visualize how coefficients affect a parabola’s shape and position — a skill that appears frequently on state exams.

Exponential Growth, Decay, and Function Analysis

🌱 Exponential Growth and Decay Coloring Activity | Word Problems
Students interpret real-world exponential relationships and get instant feedback through the color patterns they create.

Domain & Range / Graph Interpretation

🧡 THANKSGIVING Version | Domain and Range (from a Graph) Coloring Activity
💚 CHRISTMAS Version | Domain and Range (from a Graph) Coloring Activity
Even though they’re seasonal, these remain strong options for reviewing one of the trickiest EOC concepts: interpreting graphs accurately.

😎 Bonus: After-Testing Enrichment

When testing ends, keep the energy positive with something light but still meaningful:

☀️ SUMMER | Graphing & Sloping Activity – Finding the Slope Between 2 Points
It’s the perfect wrap-up — minimal prep, maximum engagement, and a great reminder that math can be fun even after the exams are done.

💬 Final Tip

Mix and match these throughout April to build a full EOC review week or a spiral review plan. Alternate the multiple-choice sets for stamina and mix in coloring or maze activities to keep morale high.

A calm classroom and confident students are the best test prep you can give them.

Stay focused, hawks. 🦅
